City of Alabaster

Evidently the process for the quarry permit applied for by Industrial Materials Products of Tennessee is moving forward at the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM). This will be a permit for water discharge and air emissions from a proposed quarry to be placed in the area near Smokey Road just outside the corporate city limits of Alabaster.

Accordingly, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Alabaster would like to hold their second Public Meeting regarding this matter on Thursday, June 23, 2005, at 7:00 p.m. at Meadowview Elementary School located at 2800 Smokey Road, Alabaster, Alabama.  This meeting will address the status of the permit applications and efforts initiated to stop the quarry from being permitted in this area.

This meeting is open to all concerned citizens whether you live inside or outside the corporate limits of Alabaster.
